Do you feel as a Muslim blogger you have faced any additional challenges/stereotypes?

Unfortunately, yes. It hard to represent myself and my religion without giving any wrong impressions to anyone, whether it be with individuals with the same or different religious beliefs to me. The world is definitely embracing the beauty of Muslim/hijab wearing influencers (through modest clothing and Halal makeup. I’m happy the industry is moving in the right direction.

If you were trapped on a desert island and you’re only allowed to bring 3 beauty products, what would they be?

I would definitely need my eyebrow product, which at the moment is the Beauty Edit Mayfair Brow Pencil. I’d also need my waterproof mascara, Black Up Cosmetics M’Eye Love Mascara is a current favourite. And lastly, of course I’d need some face powder to keep my skin looking matte; I currently am loving the Sacha Cosmetics Buttercup Powder; it’s just magic.

What inspires you most?

My surroundings, my family, friends and myself. I'm always in competition with myself which keeps me motivated and inspired.

How did you get started being an influencer and how long have you been at it?

I started by posting the things I love – beauty, fashion, travel, and I noticed people enjoyed my journey. I’ve been posting since 2015 but only started ‘influencng’ in the last few years. It’s definitely been a journey and I’m constantly innovating my content strategy.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Bubbly, spontaneous, driven, giggly, chilled.

This or That, tell us what you prefer.

/Makeup or Instagram:/ Love Instagram but makeup is the reason why I have become who I am in my profession so I’ll stick to makeup! / Summer or Winter:/ Love the heat. Living in the UK where the weather is generally cool, rainy and gloomy, you learn to appreciate a bright sunny day. / iPhone or Camera:/ As much as I love my cameras, my iPhone is literally like an extra limb. It’s how I stay connected with my three F’s: family, friends and followers! / High-street or High-end Makeup:/ I feel like this question is something that can never be right or wrong, however I really cannot decide! I use both types of product in my makeup kit. I love to try products. If a product is good then I’ll use it. It’s all about the quality and performance.
